Welcome to the Coolangatta Surf Club

We are proud to support the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club, and to be able to support their important work protecting swimmers at Coolangatta beach.

The proceeds generated by our club go directly to the Surf Lifesaving Club, enabling their volunteer lifesavers to purchase vital rescue equipment and provide surf training and education. During the patrol season, these dedicated volunteers patrol the beach to ensure everyone can enjoy the beautiful ocean safely.

Our upstairs restaurant is the perfect spot to take in the stunning ocean views from Snapper Rocks to Surfers Paradise. Join us for delicious meals from our all-day dining menu, available from 11am. We also have a coffee shop with tasty cakes and desserts.

Our bar boasts 16 icy cold beers on tap, including imported and Australian craft beers. If wine is more your thing, our extensive wine list covers a huge array to suit all palates. For those who enjoy a little flutter on the pokies, our spacious air-conditioned gaming lounge has 45 of the latest gaming machines, or try your luck with a game of Keno.

By visiting the Coolangatta Surf Club, you are not only enjoying a great experience but also supporting the vital work of the Coolangatta Surf Lifesaving Club. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you soon!

History

On 28 November 1958, a public meeting was held in the Council Chambers at Coolangatta for the purpose of gaining support and publicity for the formation of a Surf Life Saving Club to patrol this section of Coolangatta Beach. Following this meeting, the club first became affiliated with Point Danger Branch and Surf Life Saving in February 1959, however, active members proved difficult to recruit and the first official patrol commenced over the Easter period. During the latter portion of the season, the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club was formed and affiliated with the Branch. The Club has some great photos of the early days in Coolangatta hanging on its walls.
